Swimming Lessons

Cate started swimming lessons for the first time a couple of weeks ago. Amidst many wails and tears Cate did learn to swim. I do not know how she did it, but Ms. Hayley got 6 squalling kids to stifle their sobs and put their heads under water, kick their feet, blow fish bubbles, move their “big arms”, dive for rings, AND jump off of the diving board. (Not to mention she does this 6 times a day for 2 weeks.)

We went from, “Mama, Ms. Hayley is mean. She made me put my face in the water,” to “Mama, can Ms. Hayley come to our house and watch Strawberry Shortcake with me?” Cate’s favorite part was getting to jump off of the diving board. She also liked wearing her new blue and pink goggles- her favorite colors right now. Big thanks to Ms. Hayley. You did an unbelievable job. We never imagined Cate would really be swimming!
