Or Something Like That

Mrs. Debbie is one of Ava's teachers. Her husband, Mr. Jimmy, is one of the associate pastors at our church. They are currently on a trip to Israel and will gone for about 3 weeks. Apparently Mrs. Nichole has been telling the class where Ms. Debbie is. I overheard Ava tell Cate, "Mrs. Debbie is gone to heaven."

Well, I just had to intervene in case Cate decided to repeat this comment.

"Ava, Mrs. Debbie is in Israel."

"Yeah," she says, "that land."

"You mean the Holy Land?"

"Yeah, that land."

That Makes Two of Us

On a rare occasion I had Ava by herself. We were in the car and she was in the backseat talking 90 to nothing. All of a sudden she paused, took a breath and said, "Mama, I don't know what I'm talking about. Can you tell me what I'm talking about?"

The Big Snow, 1/10/11

We got about 8 inches of snow on January 10th. The weather man kept saying we were going to get a lot and we really found it hard to believe. It started mid afternoon the day before and when we woke up, it was a winter wonderland. It was powdery instead of icy, so it was harder to slide on, but great to make snowballs and snowmen. Molly did not like it at all and Tucker loved it. The big kids (adults) had more fun than the little ones who all ended up inside with the fire and snacks. I could not get them to understand that it may not snow here like this until they are our age and that it never snows 2 or 3 times a year like it has. Snow actually stayed on the ground a full week. It was awesome.

Cate's favorite was making snow angels.

Plax

Tonight, Ava introduced us to her new imaginary friend, Plax. He is black (and white with red spots). He comes in her room when she is playing with her babies and he hits them.

The End (so far).
