Drive-In Movie

We have had such a wonderful Christmas this year, but after six family events the girls were pretty wiped out tonight. I had been putting up toys and walked into the living room to this. They requested popcorn too.

Santa and Snow

We could not believe we woke up to a white Christmas. It was beautiful and made the best Christmas ever even better. Of course we had to play in the snow after the girls looked over their Santa loot. I have posted a lot of pictures, but how often does it snow around here, especially on Christmas?

Christmas Jammies

Mama Sue got the girls pajamas for them and their Bitty Babies.

Ava and Bella, Cate and Christy.
And then they got the sillies.

Christmas with the McGees

After we went to the Christmas Eve service at church, Grandpa, Nana, and Ta-Ta spent the evening with us. Ta-Ta made pizza (one of the items on Cate's list for Santa) since it would not have tasted very good by the time Santa got here if he had had to bring it all the way from the North Pole.

A tradition - Fun socks from Ta-Ta.
Tucker even got a few presents, but quickly ran away with them, so no pictures of that.

Can you tell they LOVED their pillow pets? Cate has been wanting one since this summer. Ava wanted a unicorn too until after Nana had gotten them and then she decided she wanted the lady bug. Of course, Nana swapped them, because Nana is awesome.

Ta-Ta got Ava her first boy baby doll. She won't let him ride in her wagon with the girl dolls, but she does like him. Welcome to the Babb family, Billy.
Mattie was Christmased out.
Headband obsessed.

Christmas with Mama Sue

Mama Sue and Ellen came to our house to open presents the day before Christmas Eve. Cate loved her new red bouncy ball. Ava's bitty baby wagon was a hit as well.

Cate even got Mama Sue to bounce.

Holy Cat!

Our cat has enjoyed Christmas as much as we have this year. When she wasn't scaling the Christmas tree, she was napping by the nativity.

Christmas at DD's

We had one of our Christmas dinners at DD's house. Ava had a fit to play the harmonica, which led to an Avett Brothers jam session. It was a fun night.

Gingerbread Houses

Caroline came over to make gingerbread houses with Cate and Ava a couple of weeks before Christmas. More of Ava's candy made it on her house this year, but she still had quite a sugar high. The bubble gum balls and Skittles have slowly disappeared from Cate's every few days.

I Don't Even Know What to Call This

I was tucking Ava in and she pulled me in really close to her face.

She whispers, "Mama. I need to tell you a secret."

"Oookaay."

Still in a whisper, "Mama, there were too many animals in the Bible, so I tore them out."

And she had. She had torn pages from her little picture Bible.

Wish lists

Santa should have it pretty easy at our house this year. Ava wants a Dora baby and "Slippers". Cate wants a Barbie and a pizza- well okay, he may have to get a little creative with that one.

Tangled

Saturday while the boys went to the Egg Bowl, Nana took us to the movies, Ava's first. Lori and Ashton met us there, which especially thrilled Cate. Nana got the jumbo popcorn for all 6 of us to share. Ava would not let anyone else hold it and kept telling Nana to "Stop eating all of my popcorn." The movie was actually pretty good. Cate already wants the Rapunzel princess costume, of course.

She made it about halfway through the movie.

Disney Princesses on Ice

For an early Christmas surprise Grandmama got the girls tickets to see the Disney Princesses on Ice. They got to sit in the floor seats close to all the action. Cate talked about those princesses for days and said her favorite part was the end when they all danced together. Ava said her favorite part was "Grandmama, Mama Sue, and Ellen."

Christmas Card Pictures, Mama vs. Ava

Me: "Ava, please look at the camera."
Ava: "Okay Mama, I am."

A good 15 minutes later:
Me: "Ava just look at the camera and smile one time. PLEASE."
Ava: "No." (Pouty lip)
