Not What I Want to Hear

The girls were both upstairs. I was downstairs and kept hearing bumping and knocking and thudding. "Girls? WHAT are you doing up there?"

Silence.

And then, "Ummmmmm..."

More silence.

Never a good answer.

Me and My Daddy

Naked Painters

Both of the girls love to paint and at times, we do several times a week. The clean-up is just so much easier this way. They do have some clothes on.

Cate's 5th Brithday Party (1/28/11)

Cate wanted a girls only party, so we had her friends from school over to make pizzas, paint a canvas with jewels, and play dress up. She wanted a princess cake- Ariel is still her favorite by far and we had princess cookies- thanks Blair. I wish I had gotten more pictures, but it was a busy party.

Ready for School

Cate and Ava both love school this year. Cate goes 5 days a week and Ava cries on the days she doesn't get to go. I cannot believe they are getting so big. Cate will start kindergarten next year. I hope they let Ava take her blankies and babies when she gets ready to go.

Christmas Trees

Cate was our little Christmas fairy this year. She loved every ornament or "Christmas jewel" as she calls them. Every time I put another decoration out, she wanted to know what was next. My Granny gave them each a small tree and my friend Kathryn mails a big box of ornaments every year that are just for them. They loved decorating their own trees in their rooms and it was only a couple of weeks ago that I took them down amidst wailing and gnashing of teeth.

More Like 800th Place

Cate loves the medals I get from runs. Apparently I should have explained to her that everyone that crosses the finish line gets a medal. She and Ava were playing the other day and I overheard her saying, "Ava, Mama got this medal for winning the race. She beat everyone else. She came in FIRST place."
